1 - INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION TOUR 2020

space station is a crewed satellite designed to remain in low Earth orbit for a long period
of time. In general, space stations have the ability for other spacecraft to dock to them.

  • How many days, crew members can stay in ISS is 1 year.
  • Indian GPS Navigation Satelite distance from earth is 36000 km
  • ISS is Easily visiable naked eye .
  • Estimated Cost 100 Billion DollarIt travels at about 17,500 miles (28,000 km) per hour, which gives the crew 16 sunrises and sunsets every day. per second 5 miles speed.

How Crew people will get AIR:-

"The primary source of oxygen will be water electrolysis, followed by O2 in a pressurized storage tank,"  The ISS will also have large tanks of compressed oxygen mounted on the outside of the airlock module. These tanks will be the primary supply of oxygen for the U.S. segment of the ISS until the main life support systems arrive with Node 3 in 2005. After that, the tanks will serve as a backup oxygen supply

How Crew Peopple will get WATER:-

The station also keeps about 530 gallons of water in reserve in case of an emergency. The NASA water systems on the ISS collect moisture from breath and sweat, urine from people from sinks and showers to keep the station hydrated.
"But it's expensive to ferry water from Earth," he added. "We have to recycle. There's already a USA and Russian-built water processor in orbit that collects humidity from the air.

NASA would use the space shuttle to supply the ISS with water every two to three months, with the water carried in a series of bags, each weighing 90lb (approximately 40kg) each.

What is the cost of water in Space:-

Water, essential to sustaining life on Earth, is that much more highly prized in the unforgiving realm of space travel and habitation. Given a launch cost of $10,000 per pound for space shuttle cargo, however, each gallon of water at 8.33 pounds quickly makes Chanel No. 5 a bargain at $25,000 per gallon.

How much do astronauts get paid?

Astronauts' annual salaries are determined using a government pay scale, and starting out, typically fall under two grades: GS-12 and GS-13. According the US government's 2020 pay scales and a NASA job listing, a civilian astronaut in 2020 can earn between $66,167 and $161,141 per year

Launched in 1973 and Five years after the last Skylab mission, the space station’s orbit began towards earth. On July 11, 1979, Skylab made a spectacular return to earth, breaking up in the atmosphere and showering burning debris over the Indian Ocean and Australia.Parts of Skylab. ISS Space Station Facts : ..... (Full coverage visit wikipedia...)

240 individuals from 19 countries have visited the International Space Station

Peggy Whitson set the record for spending the most total time living and working in space at 665 days on Sept. 2, 2017

The acre of solar panels that power the station means sometimes you can look up in the sky at dawn or dusk and see the spaceship flying over your home, even if you live in a big city. Find sighting opportunities at http://spotthestation.nasa.gov

The living and working space in the station is larger than a six-bedroom house (and has six sleeping quarters, two bathrooms, a gym, and a 360-degree eagle view bay window).

Six spaceships can be connected to the space station at once. eg. Soyuz from Russia, Dragon from USA.

The Water Recovery System reduces crew dependence on water delivered by a cargo spacecraft by 65 percent – from about 1 gallon a day to a third of a gallon.

On-orbit software monitors approximately 350,000 sensors, ensuring station and crew health and safety.

SUN JUNE 2020 CLOSER LOOK June 2020:-

As of June 2020, NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory — SDO — has now been watching the Sun non-stop for over a full decade. From its orbit in space around the Earth, SDO has gathered 425 million high-resolution images of the Sun, amassing 20 million gigabytes of data over the past 10 years. This information has enabled countless new discoveries about the workings of our closest star and how it influences the solar system.
